Our partner universities worlwide

The ENSCM has always been highly committed in international activities in two ways :

  • Student mobility

  • International Research Collaborations of its Laboratories

The ENSCM was one of the 1 st cycle pilot institutions which introduced the ECTS system. It has ever since been very active in the European Mobility Programmes. It has now more than 80 partner institutions in Europe and manages one of the biggest Training under Erasmus programmes in France in the framework of the Chemistry network of the “Fédération Gay Lussac.

Backed by the institution’s policy favouring international experience during the course of the curriculum, its management of the European mobility programmes Erasmus and Leonardo and its links with academic institutions and industrial companies in numerous countries in and outside Europe, outgoing student mobility is exceptional : 85% of the ENSCM students currently spend at least 3 months in a foreign country once, during the course of their studies.

Conversely, about one third of the students come from foreign countries to attend courses or carry out laboratory research projects.

SOCRATES- ERASMUS AND FITEC PROGRAMMES

Students from European partner Universities under the Erasmus Programme and from Brazil and Mexico partner Universities under FITEC Programmes can :

  • follow courses chosen from the 3-year Engineer Degree Curriculum ‘refer to “programme of studies

Under special bilateral agreements between ENSCM and their home universities Erasmus students can be delivered the Engineer degree.

The ADVANTAGES of a special small-sized, high-quality institution

The ENSCM trains 350 students per year including 30-40 international students in average; thus offering unique opportunities of international training in a friendly atmosphere with a high professor to student ratio, small-sized classes, top-quality training and lab-equipment, easy access to all its facilities and to professors and private tutoring. International students are ideally cared for in an almost "family"- like atmosphere.

The “Welcome” Club

A “Welcome” Club organized by the students is committed to ensuring a friendly reception of the international students from the airport or train or bus station to the ENSCM and to smooth down the different steps of integration into the institution, the town, the region.

French as a Foreign Language

As all courses at the ENSCM are given in French, a good knowledge of French is preferable. The ENSCM expects an appreciation of the student's level in French by the home institution.
But the ENSCM does not set any linguistic requirement obstacle. On the contrary, it offers classes of French as a foreign language so as to enable poor speakers of French to be successful in their studies and life at Montpellier.

An intensive course of French as a foreign language is organised in September by the "Pôle Universitaire Européen", before starting the academic year which is completed by all year round weekly sessions year by weekly language in the School.
In both cases attendance is free of charge.
