Historical Summary

Created as a “Chemistry Institute” in 1889.

Has been delivering the “Diplôme d’ingénieur chimiste”:

a five-year national degree in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

(Master’s degree grade) since 1907.

Became “ Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Ingénieur” in 1957.

One of the French “Grandes Écoles”: selective, academic institutions preparing students to postgraduate degrees in science with high-standard professional training in the field of engineering.

Member of the “Fédération Gay-Lussac” (network of  the 19 Écoles Nationales Supérieures de Chimie et Génie Chimique).
